Hello, and welcome! I’m the designer, lettering artist, and word nerd behind BumbleBess, Elza Kinde. For those of you visiting from #virtuAAL2020, thanks for stopping by.
By way of introduction, here are a few fun facts about me:
- I love collecting things, especially if I get to wear them. My closet is packed with graphic t-shirts, enamel pins, colorful sunglasses, combat boots, and scarves.
- I almost exclusively read children’s fiction, which you could argue is because I write children’s fiction. It’s maybe more accurate to say I’m still twelve years old on the inside.
- Although I love lettering, I still can’t write in cursive very well! Loops are hard, friends. My sister, on the other hand, has lovely cursive handwriting. I’m not sure if I should be proud or envious…
- Creativity runs in the family. My mother is an author, and my grandma is a watercolor artist. I’m proud to know their influence has helped shape my taste and style, even if it’s not the same genre or medium that they’ve chosen.
